He is a successful businessman for sure — a crooked, evil businessman.” — NYPD Deputy Commissioner Wednesday's raid on a Staten Island drug lab resulted the arrests of 21 people working in a lab operated by Ettore Mazzei, the 61 year old owner of a local restaurant. After having shut down his restaurant, the Chez Vous Catering service, New York police took Mazzei into custody. Mazzai was the owner. operator of 3 drug lab sites located under the name of Stapleton Properties. Mazzei faces multiple drug charges along with charges of larceny and identity theft, the District Attorney, Michael e McMahon stated in a comment made on Wednesday following the Tuesday night arrest of Mazzei. Mazzei was characterized by NYPD Deputy Commissioner as a predator who used vulnerable people, oppressing those addicted to drugs.
Information gathered from NYPD indicated that 2 additional raids were conducted at 702 and 703 Bay Street. The raids occurred as a lengthy investigation by the Richmond County District Attorney’s Office and Narcotics Borough Staten Island uncovered the labs.
Mazzei, who was honored last year by the local Chsmber of Commerce as a community leader faces 38 counts of felonies including larceny, identity theft, possession of a forged instrument and criminal possession of a controlled substance.
