STATE & NATIONAL: In an Illinois court, 71 year old Joseph Czuba, plead not guilty to committing a hate crime in regard to the stabbinbg death of 6 year old Muslim child. On October 14, the innocent life of 6 year olf Wadea Al-fayoume was taken during a brutal stabbing by an elder neighbor. According to reports that followed the stabbling, Czuba reacted with hate that he apparently fomented against Palestinian american family.
It is stated that Czuba attacked the Palestinian american family following the news reports of events that transpired in Israel involving the Hamas attack against Israelis.
Czuba was indicted, today, by an Illinois grand jury on charges associated with the fatal stabbing of the 6 year old child and assault. Mother of the fatally wounded child told authorities that she made a request Czuba, the apartment landlord, to pray for peace.
In court, prosecutors provided a description of the murder of the child stating the attack on the 6 year old Wadea was, " exceptionally brutal or heinous..." The family resided in a Palestine Islamic neighborhood.
Czuba will remain in jail in the state of Illinois uintil the date of his trial, January 8, 2024.
