STATE & NATIONAL: Today, the daughter of US Congresswoman, Ilhan Omar was dismissed from her private school of higher education. Following a matter of controversy that erupted into a pro-Palestine protest in which Isra Hirsi had been involved, the administrators of the school issued a disjoinder, suspending Hirsi from Barnard College.

It was during a pro-Palestine protest that Isra Hirsi participated in that which evolved into quite a volatile protest on the campus of Columbia University. Officials at the school requested help by the New York police department resulting in the arrest of several protesters including Hirsi.
A total of 108 people were arrest at the approval of New York Mayor, Eric Adams. The University charged the protesters with trespassing according to Police Commissioner, Edward Caban.
Police were asked by the Columbia University official to take full authority to "intervene..." in the unprecedented protest situation. Hirsi accompanied more than 100 protesters who were present on the campus of Columbia University at the time of the protest. Hirsi was suspended by Barnard officials for her participation in the truculent events involved in the 'Gaza Solidarity Encampment' that transpired on at the New York university.
According to Hirsi, an organizer for Columbia University Apartheid Divest@ColumbiaS.I.P., stated that the incident that transpired on the CU campus , today, is a first among events that she has participated, yet, never before being "reprimanded." Hirsi stated apparently in a message to her mother, that she received notice that she was 1 of 3 students who students being suspended for their participation in the pro-Palestine protest
