Palestine Official Amir Criticizes US & UN Leaders Following Veto of UN Inclusion While Palestinian Leaders Hope for Peace

US & GLOBAL: "How does Palestine's UN recognition harm peace? The question asked of the nations' representatives during Thursday's UN Security Council vote on the Palestine statehood proposition. Palestinian representative to the UN, Ziao Abu Amir put the question to UN leaders while aiming every criticism at the United States following the veto of the Palestine leader's petition. "This question...," Zaio Abu Amir stated, "...is directed specifically at the United States." Through the course of the speech, Palestine leader, Amir plead the cause for Palestine with inquiries surrounding the prospective impact of the veto on the UN states and the international peace. Amir read carefully from a prepared speech while other state leaders, including Russia's Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, listen after being passed an ear phone by someone seated just to his right. The Palestinian leader spoke in regard to the states' responsibility for the denial of Palestine's inclusion as a UN partner faulting not only the US, but, also, other nation's. Amir faulted the United Nations for opposing Palestine statehood "...while it recognizes Israel." Amir commented further stating that the Palestinian statehood is "...an important step toward achieving peace in our region."


"Those who hinder such a decision," Amir said, "...do not help to strengthen the chances of achieving peace." Palestine, as stated by Amir, is seeking peace with Israel. Palestinians are stating their impression, today, that there has been a shift in the regional aggression. Today, the impression had be Palestinians is that Israel is seeking total elimination of Palestinians. In the last 6 months, following the attack brought suddenly against Israel by Palestine supporter, Hamas, it was the concern , coming into the war, that Palestine sought after the annihilation of Jews. Today, Palestinians worry that their battle to win the Gaza has been lost as their leaders, now, search for a pathway to peace in hope that Israel leaders will hear their reticent cry.
