New York State: The Seat of the Crystal Stair Facing Mass Egression

STATE & NATIONAL: Today, the news of a major upheaval may be the next hair-raising event that will occur in the United States. On Friday, the report of the state of New York's exodus has sent a message of concern across the nation. according to the information received, this week, a massive move of New York residents may result in 7 million people leaving the state. Anne M. Erbynstein "Our compassion may be limitless, but our resources are not. This is the budgetary reality we are facing if we don’t get the additional support we need."--New York City Mayor, Eric Adams On Friday, the population turn around and review of New York state was released involving a recent study conducted by the Citizen Budget Commission (CBC); a non-profit, non-partisan organization. The study disclosed data gathered in regard to the post-pandemic events occurring in the nation's most populace city and state. New York, a state with a historical populace that grew more rapidly that others over the last hundred years, was calculated, recently, to be the home to 19.5 -20 million. The CBC report indicates that the state is situated for losing albeit, 40% of its current residents. "New York City has been left to pick up the pieces of a broken immigration system — one that is projected to cost our city $12 billion over the course of three fiscal years without policy changes and further support from the state and federal governments."-- New York Mayor Eric Adams New York state's population has suffered gradual decreases while a 0.05% drop in the last 2 years has seen the numbers reestablished through an increase in illegal migration--New York city receiving more than 100,000 Latino immigrants during the latter part of 2022 and throughout 2023. The exodus is complicated. The movement is concentrated on a number of issues. While in recent months, a high number of non-white --more than 40% of people of color-- have stated their plan for moving, there can be some inclination toward problems stemming from an increase in racial tension and demonstrated bias. The 2nd most pressing issue may surround the tensions that have been raised in New York given the state's prosecution of a one time New York favorite commercial real estate mogul, Donald Trump. In regard to the matter involving any existing Donald Trumpism, recent reports indicate that the nearly 35% of white New Yorkers planning a leave and the high volume of those leaving are Republican.

Whether there may exist any specific connection to former President Donald Trump, there has been no indication of a direct link between Trumpism and the exodus to his $350 million payment to New York state or ongoing trials. However, recognizing that multiple factors contribute to residents’ discontent, there may be a higher potential for political events to inadvertently influence people’s decisions to stay or leave.

While the influx of Latino migration has seemed to have had a major impact of the New York moral, nearly 50% of New Yorkers complain that things have grown increasingly unpleasant for them, their families over the last year. Since the move by southern states that engaged in busing hundreds upon hundreds of Latina nationals to the north, New York has been one of the states that has faced the worst impact in terms of cost and the availability of housing, supplies and other essentials. A recent report issued by the city and state of New York, the cost to provide for Latino migrant asylum seekers has driven up spending to more than $1 billion dollars. According to the most recent calculations, in keeping with the pace at which spending has progressed over the last 2 years since 2022, New York Mayor Eric Adams and economic analyst indicate that the cost to maintain more than 100,000 asylum seekers will extend to $12 billion dollars. Little more than 1 year ago, Mayor Adams commented in regard to the situation involving immigrants and the impact that the matter of burgeoning inflows of asylum seekers is having on New York residents. Adams stated, "We are facing an unprecedented state of emergency due to the asylum seeker crisis." Adams stated, in 2023, "...we will continue to see heartbreaking scenes like the one outside The Roosevelt..." Today, the growing question seems to press upon the issue involving the ongoing complexities associated with New York living. While immigration runs rampant the matter is compounded by the possibility that millions of the state's residents may be influenced by the multiple losses suffered by one of the nation's major city's real estate owners,' and excessive spending that compares to the size of the compassion demonstrated by New York city Mayor Adams and New York State Governor Kathy Hochul where might the otherwise destitute asylum seekers go? It appears that asylum seekers are not leaving New York while nearly 40% of New York state's formerly permanent residents are seeking residence in other regions of the nation as--tongue in cheek--some might sardonically state; 'why not Florida and Texas? Other areas associated with economic disparities in other states, including Texas and Florida, given the heightened state of inflation, are a few that play a direct role in the movement which from New York and point to the high cost of real estate added to tag paid toward mortgages that are linked to the exorbitant fees. now, facing home buyers such as HOAs. According to reports, New York state is not alone in the flushing out of residents. The state of California has been hit quite hard with exodus by major corporations that sought after lower local taxes and s lesser burden posed by outflows like operating cost, fires and shifting landscapes. Other states that have experienced what exiters may describe as an urgent need for a move are Illinois, Wyoming and Alaska.
