Across The Nation Colleges, University Students & Members of Faculty Protest In Support of Palestine --Opposing Israel's Occupying of Gaza

STATE & NATIONAL: Across the nation, this week, colleges and universities are erupting in upheaval the thrust of which is in response to the situation that continues between Israel and Hamas. As war violence reaches what can be perceived as a climactic state, students, among those of Palestinian, Jewish and American nationalities are taking their grievances to the compounds and encampments upon and around US college campuses. Authorities have been called in to make that which is now regarded as routine arrests. By Michelle Crawford-Saspenter

Today, following last week outbreak of pro-Palestine protest, Columbia students criticism of the was in Israel is matched by student engaging in protest on the campuses of Yale, NYU --11 people have been arrested at Yale after being stopped by police as protests proceeded in front of the Beneicke Library. At NYU, 100 faculty members joined in the rally as school officials react by canceling -in-class sessions. The situation that has developed over the last 7 months has now resulted in a mass, nationwide protests. College campuses across the nation have become enfolded with human scatter and the roar of chanting; the banter of such that seems to lay blame at the foot ofthe United States. At every site near campuses, encampments had been set up providing a haven, however risky, for those who would spend hours and even some spending the night in tents. On Monday, as protests seemed to unfold in unison, police Gould Plaza near NYU, UC Berkley, MIT, Emerson College, U of Michigan and the Yale campuses. Students continue with chanting the banter, pushing for their schools to divest investments and endowments provided by weapons manufacturers. ON campus, officials site problems associated with the run of institutional business and the arrival on campuses by parties who are unassociated with the Israel-Hamas war nor the pro-Palestine protest. The chaos, as it remains present on and near campuses, swells to an overarching calamity as complaints visitors adds to the clamor. One last chant aimed at Jews an apparently unappreciative Pro-Palestinian leading the protest at the encampment located in that which is regarded as a 'liberated zone' just off the Columbia campus stopped and took notice of a number of Jews who arrived during the rally. The chanter yelled out, "We have a Zionists who have entered the camp!"
