Biden signs $95.3B Military Aid- Humanitarian Bill In A Plan To Assist Ukraine & Isreal In Battle

US & GLOBAL: Today, US President Joe Biden signed the military and humanitarian aid package that was approved last week by Mike Johnson and the bipartisan House.  In a landslide decision, the US Senate approved the $95.3billion dollar package and sent it to the President's desk. Today's signing of the 95.3 billion dollar military aid package significantly represents a comprehensive measure that includes assistance for Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan and Haiti.  By Anne M. Erbynstein

The aid package allocates approximately $61 billion in military support for Ukraine.  The President's military and humanitarian aid funding aims at helping Ukraine defend itself against the ongoing Russian invasion.

The Pentagon has stated that the weapons and equipment can start being delivered to Ukraine “within days”

The package includes air defense capabilities, artillery rounds, armored vehicles, and other weapons to bolster Ukrainian forces. Additionally, Ukraine has begun using long-range ballistic missiles secretly provided by the United States

The aid package provides $26.4 billion in military support for Israel. In part  this allocation of $9.1 billion is specifically designated for humanitarian aid to Gaza. Israel will receive support to enhance its security and defense capabilities. The package includes $8.1 billion in funding for allies in the Asia-Pacific region, including Taiwan.  The support provided by the US is aimed at countering the influence of communist China.

The aid package also includes $9.15 billion in humanitarian assistance.  This humanitarian aid is intended for civilians affected by conflicts in various regions, including Haiti, Sudan, and Gaza.

Interestingly, the package contains a provision that could lead to a nationwide ban on TikTok.  The popular social media app’s China-based parent company, ByteDance, has nine months to sell its stake and find a US-approved buyer, or TikTok may be shut down across the US.

While this aid package represents a significant commitment, the situation remains complex. Ukraine has faced setbacks over the past months, and it’s uncertain whether this influx of funds will be sufficient to sustain both Ukraine and Israel in their respective military battles. However, the immediate delivery of weaponry to Ukraine is a crucial step in supporting its defense efforts.

Whether the multi-billion dollar package provided to Ukraine and Israel will be sufficient to sustain each in military battle until the wars end or whether there will be, yet,  another aid package sought after by Ukraine and Israel remains uncertain.
