New York Attorney General James Lodges Complaints Against Pro-Palestine Protesters

STATE & NATIONAL: New York Attorney General. Letitia James has launched a campaign of criticism against protesters at Columbia University. According the Attorney General, the students at Columbia University have created a situation that has erupted in intolerable chaos. Columbia student-pro-Palestine protesters have been arrested over the last week of protests. By Anne M Erbynstein

"When peaceful protest develops into hate and antisemitic violence, the line is crossed and will not be tolerated."--New York Attorney General, Letitia James On Saturday, New York Attorney General Letitia James turns the focus away from the recent Trump property financial fraud case through which the city and state was awarded $175.0million dollars. James is, now, looking at the events that have transpired on the Columbia campus--such that have created a major outbreak of protests across US college campuses.

Today, during a statement delivered from her office, James commented in regard to the Columbia protest stating that the protests have been "...deeply concerning and painful ..." The Attorney General stated that her office is continuing to monitor the situation at Columbia. It had not been stated, however, the violence that has adversely affected members of the Jewish culture seems to remain a matter of primary concern for the New York Attorney General. James is addressing the antisemitism that has plagued Columbia University over the past 7 months. As the NY Attorney General, James has the authority to take action against hate crime. The situation that has developed on the Columbia University campus would be no difference a matter of state authority. While at least one critic of the attorney General, Michael Henry, commented in regard to her position as a member of the Columbia faculty. Henry is a budding New York politician and a Republican who is vying for leadership of the state GOP party. Contrary to the complaints by Henry, Attorney General Letitia James has remained a co-professor as a member of the Executive MBA program as a result of the New York commission on Ethics and Lobbying in Government. As a William S Beinecke Visiting Professor of Public Policy, James continues in her position, teaching Public Management Innovation in the Faculty of International and Public Affairs. James is a co-instructor alongside Professor and former Mario Quomo government associate, William Eimicke. As a co-professor at Columbia, the outbreak of protest violence seems to follow in a patter that began at Harvard University and resulted in laying blame at the foot of the, then, President, Gay. If this is not a procession being carried forth on the wheels of a black female hate machine, it cannot be denied that these events do appear to be. While black female executives are appearing to face nationwide attacks and dismissals, it seems not to be succinct with reality that the Attorney General of the state should assume responsibility for the immediate concerns of the college and university campuses in the state of New York or elsewhere until an absolute violation of the law has been committed. While Attorney General James has not committed to relinquishing her post as a step toward prosecuting protesters--should prosecution become necessary--the authority to address matters involving the lawful protests being conducted on college and university campuses would remain in the hands of the institution's officials. Commentary: As for Khymani James, there is no publicly known familial relationship between her and Letitia James. Without further information, it’s challenging to determine any specific connection between the two individuals.
