POLITICS: This week, the events of ongoing pro-Palestine protests have reached their apex. Today, a report from the white House, now, states that US President Joe Biden will curtail speaking events on US college and university campuses--the decision being the direct result of the violence that transpires during campus protests.

As college and university graduations commence, US President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris will, for all practical purposes, remain quite unavailable to deliver commencement speeches.
Last year, President Biden spoke before the class of US Air Force graduates and the El Paso, Texas campus of the US AF Academy. Things have changed drastically this year. while both Biden and Vice President Harris have engaged in commencement ceremonies on campuses including private and public institutions across the nation, this year, the speaking engagements will be .limited, possibly, to military academy campuses.
This year, President Biden will deliver a commencement speech to graduating cadets of the West Point Military Academy in New York. Biden will speak before as many as 1000 graduating senior during the gathering that takes place at Michie Stadium. Graduating Senior represent the excellence of West Point as each of the grads will be inducted into the US Army as 2nd Lieutenants.
This year's ceremony, held on May 25th at the West Point campus, will be Biden's second West Point academy commencement event--the first speech delivered by Biden while serving as US Vice President. Last year, the commencement speech made to West Point graduates of the 2023 class was delivered by Vice President Kamala Harris.
Despite the fact that the Morehouse College, an historically black university, has erupted in protests in regard to the ongoing Israel-Palestine war, the socio-campus climate has arrived at a much more peaceful 'sociogeographic' position. President Biden will speak at Morehouse one week prior to the West Point Academy commencement.
