President Biden Slams The Breaks on Israel Military Aid In View of Plan For IDF Invasion of Rafah

Updated: May 9

POLITICS: In a recent interview, US President Joe Biden engaged in discussion on the matter of developing situations associated with the war between Israel and Hamas. Biden has reacted to the plan by the IDF to enter into the Egyptian border city of Rafah to conduct military operations. Following the attack on Israel on October 7, Biden has expressed concern for both the civilians in Israel and the Palestinians stating recently that Israel's military plan must take steps to ensure the protection of Palestine civilians in Rafah prior to launching plans for apprehending Hamas leaders in Rafah. By Michelle Crawford-Sapenter "We're not walking away from Israel's Security. We're walking away from Israel's ability to wage war in those areas."--US President Joe Biden On Wednesday, President Joe Biden commented in regard to the manner by which Israel may lead a military operation in Rafah. Biden stated that while there is no information alluding to the inclination for the IDF to assume the role of ensuring civilian protection, the President stated that the US is more inclined to take steps that will end US efforts at providing military munitions and equipment to Israel. As of Monday, the information received from Israel indicated that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated his decision for moving forward with a full military operation. Earlier in the week, Netanyahu issued a caveat to refugees in Rafah, instructing the move to northern Rafah. In the last month, Israel has planned the Rafah operation while stating the course of action is purely meant to capture and eliminate members of Hamas.

During his comments, made on Wednesday, Biden reflected on the blatant murders of Gaza residents killed during bombings. The President stated that refugee centers have, also, been brutally attacked causing the deaths of hundreds more civilians. Biden stated, this week, that Israel has not gone, yet, however, "If they go into Rafah," the US is "...not supplying the weapons that have been used historically to deal with Rafah." President Biden commented in reference to the 2000 pound bombs to which he has decided to be included in bringing a halt to deploying. The package would contain 1,800 of the bombs, as well as 1,700 500-pound bombs precision-guided munitions that have the capability of being guided to a specific target. Today, more than 1 million Gaza residents evacuated their cities in the Gaza Strip following the commands made by Israeli leaders after Israel sustained the onslaught of a 2000 missile strike attack launched by Palestinian-backed Hamas. In its hope for taking over Gaza and maintaining total autonomy inside the strip, the Palestinian-backed Hamas stated their side of a resolution that, unfortunately, would not resolve the matter of persistent, violent aggression being brought against Israel. For more than 6 decades, even reaching far into the arears of Israel-Middle East history and the wars between Israel and the Philistines, Palestine has persisted with hostile aggression against Israel. In the most recent decades, leading up to the October 7 attack on Israel, history indicates that a Palestine led front has remained an intermittent operation conducted since the Six-Day War of 1967--a war that was unleashed following Egypt's closing off to Israel the region's most economically opulent Strait of Tiran. The Six-Day war, named for its brevity of only 6 days, was won by Israel which, from that time, gained and maintained control of Syria, Jerusalem and Jordan with the signing of a ceasefire treaty in agreement with Israel despite the fact that, in each of the Israel-geographic lands, high volumes of residents were Palestinians. While Palestinians occupied the three regions, including the Gaza Strip and West Bank, history indicates that Israel maintained control of the area. Today, President Biden looks upon Israel and states that the US will not turn its back to Israel. The US, Biden states, will continue to make sure Israel is secure in terms of the Iron Dome and their ability to respond to the attacks that came out of the Middle East, recently..." President Biden stated, this week, that the United States will not continue to supply Israel with weapons and artillery shells.
