Texas Governor Abbott Welcomes California Law Enforcement Officers In Search of Jobs

Updated: May 13

STATE & NATIONAL: On Monday, Texas Governor Gregg Abbott welcomes police officers to the state after a number of police officers make an exit from California. By volume, law enforcement officers are moving in reaction to the “ soft on crime” policy that seems a bit of a contradiction.

Abbott has welcomed law enforcement officer who have left California as a result of a new policy that officers seem to think is too soft on crime.

Abbott commented that the officer arriving in Texas are welcome adding that he expects them to “vote right.”

Governor Abbott approved the move to Texas stating that the state “...upholds law and order.” Abbott indicated that the new California policies are “leftist…” while the California policy is much less stringent in regard to police reaction to crimes.

New policies are responsible for a reduction in police involved shooting deaths. The Biden administration has taken charge of matters involving the excessive use of firearms and the unlawful purchase of guns. The administration regards these as elements that lead to gun violence and police involved shootings in some instances. Contrary to thought, it is the administration's efforts at eliminating gun violence through the first White House Gun Violence Prevention Office chaired by Vice President Kamala Harris that, now, imposes stiffer penalties on violators and increases laws that will, in effect, prove to be tough on crime in states across the nation.
