2 UN Security Guards Struck While Traveling In Rafah War Zone-1 Fatally Injured, 2nd Airlifted To Medical Facility

US & GLOBAL: Today, a report from Egypt describes a situation that developed during a strikes launched in the border region of Rafah. According to the report, an armored UN vehicle was traveling toward the European hospital in Gaza when it was struck by a tanker. Two UN Security Guard were passengers in the vehicle that killed one and injured a second UN security personnel in the blast. By Anne M. Erbynstein On Wednesday, following the Tuesday strikes launched in Rafah, UN deputy spokesman Farhan Haq commented in regard to the 2 security officers who were victims of strikes during the ongoing fighting in Rafah. According to Haq, one of the two was a native of India, the 2nd, who survived the strike, is a Jordanian. Haq commented stating that the UN Department of Safety and Security has taken steps to investigate the incident. UN DSS has indicated that discussions will continue with Israel officials to uncover the details surrounding that which the UN claims was the fault of Israel. According to the information received by the UN DSS, the vehicle was not traveling in a cleared zone. The report states that the vehicle occupied by the UN Security Guards was traveling in a war zone when it was struck by tank fire power. The UN has identified the security guards as 46 year old Waibhav Anil Kale, killed in the blast that struck the UN vehicle. The 2nd victim, Yara Dababneh is being treated for her injuries after being safely transported to the Al-Hussein Medical City,
