POLITICS: In an early afternoon announcement, US President Joe Biden stated the administration's decision to impose an increased tariff on Chinese imports. Biden stated that he is designating tariffs in "ket factors...: of the US economy. such that will impact upon Chinese imports. Today, US President Biden announced a 25% tariff on Chinese steel and aluminum products. Biden stated that his decision follows an effort to counter China's over capacity in these areas. The President stated that the plan is meant to maintain key investments in clean American steel and aluminum.
Last month, the Biden administration launched the largest clean manufacturing project in the history of the US. Biden 's administration invested up to $1.5 billion dollars creating and supporting thousands of new, good paying jobs.
Biden indicated that the US has imposed a 100% tariff on electric vehicles made in China. Biden stated the reason for such a hike in tariffs is directly associated with China's imports that "we're not going to let ...flood our market..." preventing the US from competing fairly.
Biden stated that a 25% tariff increase will be imposed on electric batteries and a 25% tariff on critical minerals necessary to make the batteries imported from China.
Biden has long sought after an increase in US productivity. The President stated that it is the goal of the administration to ensure that electric vehicles that are sold in American are made by people who are members of American unions.
Biden stated that the way to ensure that electric vehicles are made by union across the nation is to follow international trade laws. In America, as a result of the bipartisan infrastructure law, the US is building as many as 500,000 electric charging stations across America.
The efforts made by the Biden administration is creating thousands of jobs across the nation. While electric charging stations must be clearly defined as a gas station, the concerns for having a problem with traveling by means of electrically charged vehicle are eliminated. Similar investments are being made by US partners around the globe. Global partners are , also, concerned over the problem with the market being crowded by any one particular producer, like China. Today, the Chinese government is exercising in subsidized in excess capacity, China is flooding the market. The US is imposing tariffs on solar panels from 25% to 50% and semiconductors imported from China. VChina is driving manufacturing companies out of business in Europe. Biden stated "we wont let that happen here in America." Today, the Biden administration announced its plan for imposing a 50% tariff on Chinese semiconductors. America invented the chips technology, but, at one point US manufacturing of semiconductors stopped. Biden stated we are bringing it back to America thought the window of Made in America productivity.
