NATION: On Thursday , following the meeting nbetween Presidwent Joe Biden and China President Jonping Xi, Presidwent Biden commented that ciooperations have been sustained between the two leadig economic powers in the world. Biden discuss matters associated with past relations and indicated that a number pof those matters including the Chinese shipments of the deadly fentanyl drug were a primary matter of discussion.

Among the first cooperative efforts discussed byu President Biden and President Xi reflected on 2019 and China's efforts at taking steps to reduce tghe shipments of Fentanyl being made to the United States. While the reduction in the fetanykl dug had been reduced the United States continued to encounter China's shipments of other drugs and substances containing the deadly fetanyl drug.
Fentanyl was discovereda s a compenet contained in cocaine and it was the result of the fetanyl tainted substances that was responsible for a number of deaths in the United States. President Biden indicated that fentanyl drugs are the most deadly , causing the highest number of deaths in the United States.
Biden stated that , through discussions held during the APEC Summit with XI, the 2 coutries will be taking steps to ensure that prescursor chemicals and pharmaceutical shipments from China to the United States are prevented. Biden and Xi have worked together to coordinate efforts to ensure the plan works through that which the Presiden emphasized as one of the most significant forms of agreement --the re-opening of direct and clear communication.
Risk and safety issues were, also, a matter incorpporated in the tangible steps Biden stated, will be taken to ensure that efforts are being fjord in the right direction. Competition was, also, a key matter of discussion while open communication works to prevent competition turning to conflict.
Stated one of his primary consieration in regard to matters that were, also, discussed involving the suituation in Ukraine and that in regard to "Russia's refusal to stop the brutal war of aggression against Ukraine and the conflict in Gaza."
Biden and Xi 's discussions included matters associated with Taiwan and the South China sea. The President stated that he directly made direct refernce to the detainment of US citizens raising the matter at issue as another key to peceful communications. Biden stated these were matters raised that, however, arrived at no agreement with Xi.
Among the final matters of discussion with Xi during Thursday's meetings, Biden stated that he stressed the importance of peace and civility in the South China Sea while, also, welcoming the positive steps taken by the 2 world leaders to implement the best approach in maintaining diplomacy through talks that represent the key elements toward sustaining global peace.
President Biden, also, stressed the importance of the peace efforts that are meant to continue adding that the US does not seek conflict with China. The President stated that the US and China hasve sought after the resumption of military to military communuication channels emphasizing the importance of reducing the risk of accidental miscalculations.
