NATION: On Thursday, Vice President Kamala Harris traveled to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to meet with small business owners in the state. The Vice President was joined by a number of small business owners and comedian DL Hughley who hosted the CDFI small business conference. By Michelle Crawford-Sapenter

Today, the Vice President informed the business owners that any American raised in a family whose patriarch and matriarch were not homeowners, a $25,000 dollar stipend will be provided to each of those Americans who qualify.

The business conference was joined by Deputy Secretary Wally Adiyamo, Acting Secretary Adrianne Todman, Sarah Godlawski, Mayor Cavalier Johnson MC James Phelps, and Senator Tammy Baldwiin.

Harris stated that this year’s economic opportunity tour is essential for assisting businesses with getting ahead. The CDFI conference, Harris stated, is meant to discuss and further access to information and relationships that allow them to realize their business success.
Creating wealth is necessary to contribute to the economy, the community and neighborhoods across the nation.
The Vice President stated that trillions of dollars are being invested in the United States and, for example, business growth is the primary reflection of tge purpose for investments made by the Biden-Harris administration.

Hughley mention the situation with black homeownership to which the Vice President responded stating that federal dollars have been invested in the ability of black families to own homes.
Black home owners are routinely unfairly treated and, while other homeowners receive a reasonable appraisal, the black homeowner—when selling or applying for an equity loan—routinely y receive an unreasonable and lower appraisal for their homes.
Vice President Harris commented in regard to medical debt stating that, given the fact that medical emergencies are common and the debts incurred are no fault of the debtor, today, after working to reduce the cost for living in Smerica for the US public, tge Biden-Harris administration has ensured that medical debt will not be cited on credit reports.
Harris spoke in reference to maternal mortality stating that tge problem is directly associated with affordability and race. Today, black women are more likely to undergo maternal mortality compared to others. The Vice President recently reached states requesting that post natal maternity care be extended to 12 months. Today, 46 states have adopted the plan.
The Biden-Harris administration has ensured that teachers , also, receive debt forgiveness. Today, as much as $150 million dollars in student loan debt has been relieved as a result of the SAVE Program.
Harris stated that federal contracts are slated for being increased by 50% by 2025. The Vice President stated that too many of the most important issues remain reticent and nothing gets done because people in the US public do not hold themselves and the administration accountable.
