Iran President's Helicopter Located -Raisi Unharmed In Apparent Crash



US & GLOBAL: A report from Iran provides information in regard to the crash landing of the helicopter carrying Iran President Ebrahim Raisi. according to the first report, President Raisi's helicopter went down during apparent weather difficulty and for a time remained missing. Today, following the emergency mission that followed the crash, the Iran President's aircraft was located in the northern region of the country. According to the report, the helicopter was traveling over a region of remote mountains in the Azerbaijan Province. While night fall and cold temperatures complicate rescue efforts, there are efforts being made to locate President Raisi and other Iranian officials. On board the helicopter was the Iran Prime Minister, Hussein amir-Abdollahian. The Iran government has deployed 20 rescue teams and drones employed to engage in rescue efforts in the Azerbaijan Province mountain region of Iran.

The group of officials and dignitaries were returning to their home following a meeting and ceremony for opening a new dam located at the Azerbaijan border. Iran government reports that the helicopter crashed at Varzaqan where the search continues. As the search continues, the reports from Iran indicate that, due to the region being situated inside an enclave surrounded by mountains, search and rescue efforts are complicated by dense fog. The report from the IRNA media group indicated that there had been some contact made with individuals who were on the helicopter commenting that there is hope that passengers have survived the crash.
