Floyd Killer US Supreme Court Appeal Request Denied

STATE & NATIONAL: On Monday, the U.S. Supreme Ciyrt Court denied a request for an appeal to tge ruling decided in the George Floyd murder case. Former police officer, Derrick Chauvin was denied an appeal to the guilty verdict.

Today, the Minnesota police officer who was convicted on 3 charges associated with the 2020 death ofthe 42 year old black man, George Floyd. After having made efforts at shopping at a local convenience store, George Floyd was detained by police.


Among the 4 police responding to a call from grocery store employee claiming George passed a counterfeit bill, Chauvin was the officer who deleverately held his knee on Floyd's neck for 8 minutes. Floyd died of fatal injury associated with the officer, Derek Chsuvin's use of unusual force at the hand of Chauvin.


Following the wrongful death of George Floyd, Derek Chauvin and 3 other officers responded to tge grocer's 911 call. While each of the officer were charged with denying the civil rights of the deceased prior to his death, Chauvin was , also, charged and convicted with 1st degree unintentional murder, 3rd degree murder and () degree manslaughter.
