Chief prosecutor of the ICC, Karim Khan has stated his interest in securing the legitimate cause for arresting both Israel Prime Minister Netanyahu and Hamas militant leader, Yahya Sinwar and members of his regime including Military Chief Mohammed Diab Ibrahim al- Masri and Chief of the Iran political bureau, Ismail Haniyeh. Khan has indicated that the ICC is moving forward with the plan to issue arrests warrants for both national leaders who face being charged with international violations associated with war crimes.
Khan stated that the ICC panel of judges is considering both the Hamas October 7 attack on Israel and the deadly results of the attack that killed 1200 Israeli civilian. The panel will, also, look further into matters associated with Israel's response to Hamas' October 7 attack as operations in Gaza come under ICC scrutiny. Today, as it is apparent that Israel urges the ICC to take into consideration the onset of the ongoing conflict that brought about after Hamas launched 2000 missile attack against Israel killing a massive number of Israeli residents during the overnight surprise attacks, the ICC nonetheless looks upon Israel as the aggressor.
