The Hostages & Missing Family Forum Releases Video Footage of 5 Women Captured By Hamas on October 7

Updated: May 22

US & GLOBAL: Israel is in an uproar over video footage provided containing images of 5 Israeli females, soldiers who were abducted by Hamas on October 7. The video footage of the five was released by members of the families of the female soldiers. One 8 year old girl held hostage by Hamas was captured on video and forced to read from a script written by Hamas militia. By Anne M. Erbynstein A video very recently released displays the actual suffering of the 5 Israeli women. It was stated by the Israeli news media that there were soldiers among the females captured and held hostage by Hamas. In the video, the footage reveals that the women had been injured and their blood stained their faces, their clothing and the floor of the room in which they were being held. It seemed apparent that Hamas leaders removed certain ones of the 5 young women from the Nahal Oz, the location where they performed security --some of the women were taken from their residents inthe Nahal Oz kibbutz. Today, as the footage released by the Hostages and Missing Families Forum reached the international public, the families stated their belief that the hostages, taken 8 months ago, are still alive. The hope by family members and those who have assisted with making efforts at speaking with Israeli and international negotiators is that the women's lives have been spared. The sadder reality is that, if the women are alive, there can be no question that their treatment has been a continual episode of disgrace and disgust resulting the intensity of the 5 women's disdain for their captors. One Hamas terrorist commented in regard to an Israeli female stating, "Here are the girls who can get pregnant." In a more recent video footage, Daniella Gilboa, is shown commenting in regard to the lack of response by the Israeli government to their 229 day hostage situation. Gilboa stated, "The Israeli government must not waste even one more moment — it must return to the negotiating table today!" While negotiations are being discussed by significant figures within the Israeli government, the HMFF is putting pressure on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who has repeatedly rejected agreements for their release. The HMFF and the families demand the immediate release of all hostages.

The forum is calling for the intervention of world leaders and the opening of a humanitarian corridor to provide the hostages with medical care while urging the Israeli government to return to the negotiating table.  The Hostages and Missing Families Forum continues to provide families support and professional assistance as the organization advocates for the immediate release of all hostages. Forum officials believe that every new testimony about what happened to the hostages echoes the same tragic truth – they must bring them all back home, now.
