NATION: In the city of Boston Massachusetts, Vice President Kamala Harris is welcomed by the Boston Union 537 Local pipefitters to discuss matters of imporatnce to Union apprentice. Harris echoes the plans established by US President Joe Biden and the Biden administration involving matters that have put forward major areas of concern for unions and America's middle class. Part of what the President has done is to write into and to buuikld into our policies that apprenticeship programs are definitely the way to go." --US Vice President Kamala Harris On Thursday, Vice President Harris spoke before the members of one of Boston's most significant Local Unions. :Local 537 is a union of pipefitters whose job it is to ensure that portions of the US infrastructure works efficiently. Vice President Harris stated that the importance of the working class Americans are deserving of being acknowledged for their hard work and contributions to the American lifestyle. The work that is being performed by union workers is the workk that, President Biden has always believed, has added to the development of American society.
"Im on a mission to visit every IV Local in America....Its about building up a fortified country."--US Vice President Kamala Harris The Biden -Harris administration has established more jobs and better, higher salaries among those who are members of unions. harris stated that the negotiations involved in collective bargaining distributes power and enables workers' voices to be heard and the steps taken to improve on their concerns is respected. Leaders of Union Local 537 indicate that the Biden-Harris administration has ensured that union workers are not forgotten and that their salaries address every concern of families and those that are the desires of workers that assist with chasing their goals. Harris indicated that the future of apprenticeships is situated within every apprentice. Its about building the skills and take care of the people of the US and those around the globe. The Vice President stated that the goal is to continue to build up all people and the ability of American to compete around the world. Building up the union apprenticeship is , also, about family, Harris stated. The people who train apprentices and pay the salaries are among the most significant within the union. harris stated, for instance, resident of Flint Michigan, including the grandparents and parents of the babies, the children who are drinking and living on cpntaminated water. By this, Harris stated, that the matter is a public health issue. Harris stated that the federal government should take the initiative to replace the pipes in Flint Michigan --and it didn't stop there. The Biden Harris administration determined there was and is a need to replace all lead pipes across the nation. Ensuring that everyone has access to clean water. is parampount. The interviewer stated, we have a federal fighter on stage--referring to the Vice President Kamala Harris. A number of Local 537 commented in regard to their jobs and the environment in which they work. Shauntay stated her concern for there being such a disproportionate number of people like her adding that there were so many more white men on the jiob in comparison. Harris commented in regard to Shauntay's comments stating that it is essential to continue to vocalize concerns about matters that confront those who work as members of unions. It is necessary to reach people outside the union to "...bring them in..." and introduce them to the oppotunities that exist within unions. "Union apprenticeship is not about charity...its about duty. Is about responsibility" duty is a responsibility , even when its just a little bit. Some suggest, Harris stated, that "...the strength of a person is based on who you beat down." The Vice President stated further that "...the strength of a person is," truly, "...about who you lift up," adding "...thats whats happening here." Vice President Harris stated that calling out the weaknesses is most essential to remediate matters at issue. "Strength is on the side of those who believe in empowerment... and in the dignity versus those who are about division and exclusion and beating people down. We are about recognizing the hard work in community and bringing folks together."
