STATE & NATIONAL: Houston police force reports the shooting of a murder suspect . The suspect was shot by a HHPD officer during an attempted cqarjacking in area of the Spring Branch School District.

Today, the report of a murder suspect who was shot by police provides information in regard to his shooting and , also, the charges faced by the suspect accused of the murder of a close relative.
The shooting transpired at 7:20 am as the suspect attemopted to break into parked vehicles at a Spring Branch Elementary. Omar Rodarte approached the Buffalo Creek Elementary early on Thursday morning.
The suspoect had been reported to police in the area after having been witnessed driving a stolen vehicle and crashing into several cars , Rodarte apparently ditched the wrecked vehicle and sought after breaking into and stealing another.
Police located Rodarte during his theft attempt and, subsequenbtly, chased Rodarte who, while on foot, attempted to escape police arrest. Shots were fired by a SBISD police officer fatally striking Rodarte.
Police received a report earlier Thursday mnorning providing informastion of Rodarte's shooting and killing a family member. According to Rodarte's relative, Monda Lee Lane, her son had been involved in an argument with his father. Lane heard gunshots being fired as she saw Rodarte leaving the home and going to the nearby school. Police who were called to the scene by Mrs Lane were able to perfiorm an immediate investigation on Omar Rodarte. Police found a number of felonies along with 11 convictions in Rodarte's background.
