In her expression of appreciation made to Former Congresswoman Gabby Gifford, Vice President Harris stated, " I am thankful to Senator Schumer, Senator Blumenthal and Senator Murphy for calling for the passage of legislation that bans asssult weapons, expands background checks and improves gun storage safety."
During Gun Conttol. week as Vice President Harris visited with former Arizona Congresseomsn , Gabby Gifford, the discussions on gun control stem from the decades long gun violence that has plagued the United States. It is a hienoys act of human atrocity that the former State Representative has experienced first hand.
In the year 2011, Gabby Gifford was engaged in conducting a political rally when a gunmsn approached a crowd gathered outside a supermarket and opened fire. Gifford was struck by tge gunmsn's bullets leaving her seriously injured and temporarily debilitated.
Gifford demonstrates to the nation the most courageous strength and personal resilience having survived , overcoming the vicious violence that caused her transcended debilitation . Now, after 12 years of recovering from one of her most life threatening and quite possibly a most frightening incident, Gabby Gifford has joined the fight to prevent gun violence in Smerica and around the globe.

In 2022, the Biden Harris administration passed the Safey Communities Act; a bipartisan law that transcend the impact of U.S. legislation passed some 30 year prior.
The administration's gun safety control act, known as the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act -- the BSCA is the first federal gun safety act that moves girward straw purchasing and gun trafficking crimes. The BSCA provides law enforcement the ability to hold accountable those who traffick fire arms.
