Biden Reaches Congress Via Press Conference on Ukraine-Russia War-Ukraine Faces Pressure Over Aid


POLITICS: On Wednesday, US President Joe Biden spoke in regard to Ukraine situation and the aggression that has persisted over the last 18 months at the hand of Russia.  During  a White House press conference Biden covered a number of areas of concern to the US and Congress involving ongoing war conditions in the Ukraine-Russia conflict and , also, focused on the situation that continues at the US southern border.  By Michelle Crawford-Sapenter

   

"Russian forces are committing war crimes. Its stunning!  I'm not the only one who can defeat Donald Trump, but I will defeat 'em."--President Biden comments in response to a reporter's question, "Do you think there is anyone else on the Democratic ticket who can defeat Donald Trump?"


Biden stated that it is difficult to simply walk away from a matter that apparently involves the life and safety of human beings.  The President states that the US and European friends are prepared to stick with and stand by Ukraine.


Putin plans to keep going.  The /russian President (if) he attacks NATO allies the conditions of the Russian aggression changes.   


Today, while there may be a pause in the plan to provide monetary support to Ukraine, Putin has an open road to defeating the nation subjected to his denial of sovereignty and a democratic resolve.


Republicans have to decide whether they want a real solution.  "We need a real solution." Senator Schumer and fellow democrats have offered to the Republicans an oppoertumnity to engage in bipartisan compromise.  Biden stated that the GOP is prepared to knee-cap Ukraine while the entire world watches.


"What will the remainder of the world do if the US walks away from Ukraine? Walking away now will emboldence hostile aggressors."  Biden expressed interest in encouraging Congress to arrive at a plan that will effectively address the situation involving Ukraine and Ukraine's need for military funding. The President commented in regard to arriving at a plan that will supersede the very evident depletion of US emergency military funding.


President Biden commented in regard to his administration's willingness to, also, turn the focus back to the border.  The President stated the White House administration will establish changes necessary to significantly address matters that exist to propel the ongoing influx of migration that further propels the complex situation at the border. 


The President stated that he , at one point,  believed that the GOP Congress was willing to work together with the administration to develop a substantial resolution. Biden added that the matter failed after the GOP Congress abandoned talks. 


President Biden commented that his administration is prepared to add judges and security on the border,  however, all efforts  that had been tabled at that time were ignored and ultimately, brought to a halt when discussions failed as Mike Pence walked away without an agreement being established with the Biden administration.
