No Injuries Reported Following Strikes Launched By Iraqi Fighters at Ain al-Asad US Accessed Military Base In W. Iraq


US & GLOBAL: Monday's attack on the Ain al-Asad airbase in Iraq resulted in diverting an attack brought against the airbase. The attack on Ain al-Asad was prevented by US air strikes during the air raid launched on Monday. By Anne M. Erbynstein This week, the attack that was launched by Iraqi rebel fighters was aimed at military base that is secured by US troops. Iraqi rebels launched short range missiles from a truck that was strapped with the weapons that were used to fire upon the military base.

The report provided by sources in Iraq indicated that the rebel forces used the small trucks to place two missile launchers that were affixed to the back of the truck. According to the source, the trucks were parked on the east side of the military base only 4 miles away. The US has deployed troops in Iraq in response to the ongoing war in Israel and Gaza. US troops have not been suffered by the Iraqi attacks while , however, several strikes have been brought against US troops situated at a number of Iraqi military bases that are backed by the Iranian government. Ending the strikes attempted by the Iraqi rebel group, the US was able to use force to divert the missiles fired by Iraqi rebels. No injuries were reported by US officials.
