Hunter Biden appeared in the federal District Court for the Central district of California. Involving an investigation that began in 2019, Hunter Biden has taken steps to ensure his trial is circumspect in the manner that the court reflects upon his activities, that, based upon Hunter's not guilty plea, the younger Biden asserts that his activities --whether true or false--did not involve other members of the Biden family.

Appointed to the investigation by US Attorney General,. Merrick Garland in 2021, U.S. Attorney David Weiss, moved forward with filing claims alleging some significance in his reasons for charging Hunter Biden with crimes associated with income tax filings. Weiss served as the chief investigator of the Hunter Biden matter during such time that he stated claims associated with an illegal gun purchase --a matter to which Hunter Biden has, also, plead not guilty. Today's not guilty pleading was entered in the California Court in regard to claims made involving business transactions, such that Weiss, an appointee by former President Donald Trump, alleged were at the crux of the investigation. On Thursday, Hunter was in court in response to a cause including charges file last year by the US Department of Justice involving a number of claims associated with tax violations. Hunter Biden has been charged with 9 tax violations that include evasion of assessment, failure to file and pay taxes and false or fraudulent tax returns. According to a report made last year, attorneys, Abbe Lowell and Kevin Morris, indicated that their did pay taxes stating that those taxes that were in question were caught and paid up several years ago. The court maintains that information contained in an indictment states claims that Hunter Biden spent millions of dollars on a lavish lifestyle while avoiding paying the taxes assessed against his income. Attorneys for Hunter Biden have contested the allegations stating that the claims made against their client are simply meant to gas light with tainted fuel the ongoing election campaign while aiming the controversy at the elder Biden.
