NATION: In Congress , today, the pursuit of Alejandro Mayorkas' impeachment has become the House Republican 's hallmark event of Mike Johnson and other GOP member's position as House majority. Today, fo9ll,owing a last week decision to pull the plan for impeaching Mayorkas off the table, the House returns this week with a solid impeachment decision.

"[Mayorkas], Johnson states, "...deserves to be impeached, and Congress has a constitutional obligation to do so." On Wednesday, the US House returned to the session of the day after having entered a vote on Tuesday that won enough votes to carry over Republican's plan for impeachment of Mayorkas. In a vote of 214 to 213, the House posted 2 Articles of Impeachment containing charges that Secretary Mayorkas failed at enforcing US immigration laws and making false statements to Congress. Congress indicated that the majority of votes were carried over as a result of Mayorkas' alleged failed efforts at deterring the overwhelming influx of illegal migrants, the majority of whom remains situated at the border during the latter months of 2023. In addition to the more than 25,000 illegal migrants who, as the year opened, remained at the US Mexico border, states across the nation including New York with more than 100,000 bused to the state and Washington D.C. receiving massive numbers of migrants at the doorstep of the Vice President in 2023. The House has turned the tables, leveling all responsibility for the border crisis over to Mayorkas while it appeared that the states of Texas, California, New Mexico and Arizona were reporting being invaded.

Today, House Speaker Mike Johnson commented in regard to Mayorkas' impeachment stating that the DHS Secretary deserved to be impeached . During a Washington press conference, Johnson stated, Mayorkas' impeachment falls far shorting a declaration of war due Gov to r overwhelming influx of Latin country illegal immigrants.
