ATE & NATIONAL: Alarming news involving the suicide committed by an Alabama Mayor ofthe city of Smith Station and Pastor ofthe 1st Baptist Church Phenix City. In the first week of November an article that was published by a local news media company, 1819 News, made disclosure of comments and photos of Fred L ( Bubba) Copeland. The Pastor/Mayor served as the city of Smith Station's political leader over the last 7 years. Mayor/Pastor Copeland died on November 3rd. His death ruled an apparent suicide.

What led to Mayor Pastor Fred L. Copeland's death is nothing of a mystery, today. On November 1st, mayor Copeland became the topic of an article published by the news company 1819 News. According to information received by the news company, Copeland operated a website through which he posted photographs of himself posing as a woman in facial make-up.
"I know that our testimony as Christians is not defined as much about how we act in the good times. It's how we act in the difficult times." Comments by Professed Close Friend of Pastor Bubba Copeland News publisher, 1819 News apparently exposed more than images--that which Pastor Copeland described to his church as a type of role play that was conducted along with his wife. During an interview with the 1819 News company, Mayor Copeland stated that the images of he were accompanied by several rather salient images of youth and women and were, also, described as being somewhat licentiously compromising. The publisher, 1819 News , also, exposed the photos in a news article published on or shortly following November 1, 2023. According to reports made in association with the 1st Baptist Church Phenix City member's reaction to Copeland's interview and his comments explaining his actions, the church responded with love and understanding of Copeland's quite unorthodox actions--for which the Pator apologized to his members. Other comments made by members of the church described the comportment of a Pastor and the man who seemed to be a faithful Christian who loved his church. Despite the impressions and disposition of Bubba Copeland as Mayor and as Pastor of the 1st Baptist Church, there was evidence of a rather left of center behavior that somehow overhsdowed the Mayor/Pastor's more sedate personality. In the November 1st interview, it had been revealed that Copeland , also, covorted in drag apparel in his spare time while, also, using the name Brittini Blaire Summerlin. According to 1819 News, Copeland utilized websites set up at Reddit and Instagram to conduct his surreptitious covortings. Prior to his suicide, Copeland stated that he took the transvestite appearing photos at home with his wife as a gesture in humor. Copeland added that he knows he is neither very good looking as a woman or a man. Copeland stated that he had been targeted on the internet indicating that the article published in the news is not a fair assessment of him. On November 3rd, reports were made of the Mayor's suicide that which proceeded his exposure of a transgender member of the community who, he claimed, was obsessed with a local business owner. The report indicated that Copeland had , also, exposed a number of rather compromising photos of other members of the community. On the day of his shooting death, Copeland was seen driving his vehicle toward the city of Beulah. According to the report, the Mayor of smith station was followed by a police vehicle whcih proceeded at a slow pace behind the Mayor's car. At one point, Copeland pulled over and exited his vehicle. The police report indicates that immediately after exiting his vehicle, Copeland fired shots into his own flesh, killing himself. Reports of any further investigation of Mayor/Pastor Fred L. 'Bubba' Copeland's shooting death have not been released by Smith Station police department.
