Biden-Harris Administration Plans $2.7B Strategy To Defeat Illicit Fentanyl Trafficking


POLITICS: On Tuesday, US President Joe Biden was met by Homeland and national security leaders in a meeting held to discuss initiatives that will be conducted in regard to the critical situation involving the U.S. and the deadly drug Fentanyl. Today's conference would,also, address the urgency for tge development of a plan to approach prevention of synthetic drug infiltration into the global drug markets.

Today, President Biden completed the development of plans for arresting tge broad based distribution of fentanyl and other synthetic drugs.


Following the conference's, President Biden released the blueprint for the National and Homeland Security Meeting to Combat Illicit Fentanyl into the United States. The White House indicates that last week's discussions with China and Mexico have proved effective in the plan for establishing steps necessary to be taken for "...cracking down on the precursors, production, and trafficking of illicit fentanyl". 


Also contributing to the critical strategic plan, Biden was provided information from department officials including Secretary Blinken, Secretary Mayorkas, Attorney General Garland, and DEA Administrator Milgram. Biden emphasized the critical need for underscoring efforts being made toward "... understanding..." how operations involving drug trafficking works in foreign countries.


More recently, Congress reauthorized Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act which expires at tge end of December, 2023. President Biden reinstated his commitment to countering the " illicit fentanyl crisis in the United States.." using every possible preventative option. Biden indicates that fentanyl is the number 1 killer of American youth ages 18-24.


Setting a new agenda for the American public, President Biden has established the Unity Agenda for the Nation as the key priority for addressing the criticsl state of fentanyl trafficking in the U.S.


The new UAN will focus on cracking down on drug trafficking "... and disrupting the flow of illicit fentanyl and its precursors." While a $1.5billion dollar package has been requested to be approved by Congress , the funding will cover treatment for addictions, overdose prevention measures and recovery support .


Adding $1.2 billion dollars to ensure that the trafficking of fentanyl and other deadly drugs are kept out ifthe United States, the Biden-Harris Administration take steps to advance President Biden's Unity Agenda ofthe Nation as a move forward that will, ultimately, save lives.
