Biden Maintains Focus On US & Hamas Hostages -States Plan To Avoid Attendance At COP28


POLITICS: Today. as US President Joe Biden turns his focus to the situation involving the release of 69 Israeli hostages exchanged for 150 Palestinians held by a faction of Israelis, the announcement made by the White House, in the interim, informs of President Biden's plans involving the Climate Summit being held in Dubai.

This week as the two week UN COP28 Is set to begin on Thursday, President Biden has stated his plan for avoiding attendance demurring the gathering that will bring 200 countries together.


In regard to a decision made by the President, the COP28 Summit will be attended by the US envoy on climate control, former US Secretary of State, John Kerry.


It was in 2020, at the start of the Biden-Harriscadministration that President Joe Biden appointed the former Secretary of State to serve as the special envoy to attend the COP Summit. Since accepting his assignment, John Kerry has worked closely with President Biden during their meetings with COP partners.


During COP28 , Kerry will represent the US as a key figure who will speak before the 200 nations to delivery the most recent decisions made by the Biden administration regarding the next steps that may be taken involving the global focus on climate control.


Kerry was in China this year discussing matters associated with the addressing methane emissions and the processes by which methane may be reduced.


Kerry provided information in regard to China's reduction being made in the production of coal. Special envoy, Kerry, also, discussed the global concerns for China's arriving at an agreement involving trade restrictions on solar panels, components for batteries and the U.S. and global financing of climate control. As these obstacles were presented during his China visit, Kerry managed to hurdle the blocks and arrive at necessary resolutions involving matters at issue.


Kerry also traveled to the Middle East and India confirming the $100 billion dollar contribution made by the United States. Matters involving laws and new legislation developed in regard to global efforts being made to reduce climate change and eliminate the climate crisis are, also, being discussed during COP28.


The nation of Usrael remains singled out as one country that has avoided establishing significant laws that effectively address the global climate crisis.


Special envoy, John Kerry and team will visit Expo Cuty, Dubai, attending the 2 weeks long COP28 Summit, 2023.
