"I brag about you." Making reference to Mayor Duggan, " You brought back the city. You brought back Detroit." --US President Joe Biden
This week, President Joe Biden speaks with Mayors across the nation to discuss the great impact that the ARP has had on their vommunities.
In a recent meeting with Detroit Mayor, Dugan, Biden comments in regard to the impact the ARP has had on the city in its economic recovery from the loss of a major auto manufacturing plant.
Mayor Duggan stated, "We dedicated $100 million dollars of it to scholarships." Dougsn refers to the efforts made in Detroit using the ARP,
Fougsn stated that, given the benefit of the ARP, the city of Detroit began to pay people $10 an hour to learn to read, get their high school diploma, to learn truck driving
Duggan commented that Detroit has been restored and tge resurrection of manufacturing in the city has brought the unemployment rate down to less than 8% from 20% .
President Biden expressed great appreciation for the work being accomplished by Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan as a result of tge Smericsn Rescue Plan.
