Biden Reflects On Mass Shooting At Thousand Oaks, California -A Bipartisan Approach To Saving Lives


POLITICS: This week, as the nation recalls the mass shooting that occurred during the College Night celebration at Thousand Oaks , California, today, President Joe Biden reflects on the gun violence that ended the lives of 13 young people and injuring 15 others who were frequent visitors of the Borderline Bar and Grill. By Michelle Crawford-Sapenter "In mere moments, a lone gunman armed with high-capacity magazines caused untold pain for survivors and family members whose lives will never be the same."--President Joe Biden It was five years ago that the Thousand Oaks shooting tranpired at the hand of, David Long, a gunman brandishing a 45 calibre Glock semi-automatic firearm that he apparently purchased in accordance with California state law. "I am taking every action that I can to save lives." US President Joe Biden  Long opened fire on 260 patrons along with a number of employees working that night at 11:18 pm at the bar and grill. according to the report, Long fire 61 rounds adding smoke bombs to his infernal gunfire that had been randomly aimed at anyone inside the location. During the hail of bullets fired , later, by Long, two officers were faced off by gunfire. In the darkened establishment under the cloud of smoke, one officer sustained gunshots fired by his fellow officer. Thereafter David Long fired a shot that ended his own life. The lives of 28 victims of the Thousand Oaks mass shooting, Biden stated, will be forever changed. Presdident Biden commented, further, in regard to the families that have suffered losses. Biden added comments in reference to early 2023 shooting causing the grief and pain that is , also, suffered by the victims and families of the mass shooter at Tops Grocers. in Buffalo, New York and those among the children and members of the faculty whose lives were ended at the Monterey Park Elementary. "From from Lewiston to Highland Park, Buffalo to Uvalde, Monterey Park to El Paso, Biden commented, stating that ... "thousands of communities impacted by daily acts of gun violence that do not make national headlines." Presiudent Biden indicated that the US has been the target of new reports--national headlines--stating the devastation delivered to communities as a result of a gun violence epidemic that persists in the United States. President Biden stated that his administration is committed to doing everything possible to end the scourge of gun violence . Biden stated that the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act is the most effectiove gun violence action taken in 30 years. According to Biden the white House is conducting executive actions through the first ever White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention. President Biden stated that he has called on the Republican party to take action in Congress by "...banning assault weapons and high capacity weapons and much more --that we know can save lives."
