Border At Egypt-Gaza Exchange Opens As Truck Loads of Humanitarian Aid Brings Relief

US & GLOBAL:It was early on Saturday morning that the Egypt -Gaza border reopened to allow the planned crossing for essential humanitarian aid. Millions who left Gaza to seek refuge in a safe haven on the opposite side of the Israel -Gaza border remained without food, water and other necessities for the last 2 weeks. Today, relief was driven into Egypt on the wheels 20 trucks filed with goods and the concer n for human lives. By Anne M. Erbynstein The aid, sent to Palestine, has been long awauted while the concerns for tsmall children and others grew more intense with each passing day. The aid was brought across the border after having arrived in the mddle of the week. Today would represent the first day that the people awaiting an end to the ravages of war would see some measure of light in the form f good hope. 2000 tons of goods crossed the line at Egypt's border while another 180 trucks are forced to wait on the Gaza side. More than 2 million from the Palestine region of the Gaza have drifted into Egypt, while the count of human losses persisted even as refugees fled their homes at the start of the week. Last week as the war violence continued at a the height of violence, Prime Minister Netanyahu issued a statement to residents of the Gaza and surrunding areas admonishing them to remove themselves from the area before rapid and unannounced bombing would take place. Since that time, a number of US and other nationals' hostages have been released. On Saturday, President Joe Biden spoke via telecall with two ofthe released hostages. Biden stated his gladness that the two women were , now, following the return of nearly 300 US rhostages. President Biden stated hs commitment to ensuring the release of others.
