First Female SCOTUS Justice, Sandra Day-Oconor Dies at 93


STATE & NATION: This week, tge United States mourns tge passing of former U.S. Suoreme Court Justice, Sandra Day Oconor. Former Justice O'Connor died on Friday following her extendive service to the Unite States Supreme Court.

One of the foremost US women in the United States who stood as a pillar within the Supreme Court, Justice Sandra Day O'Connor was a juris prudent professional who served the US as an attorney and was seated on the US Supreme Court as an Associate Justice.



Between the years 1981 and 2006, Justice O'Connor offered the responses in SCOTUS with strong opinion. O'Connor was respected as a moderate conservative during her 25 years on the US Supreme Court.



Justice O'Connor was nominated by President Ronald Reagan, and provided effective service as a swing justice under the William Rehnquist Suoreme Court, Justice O'Connor was also presented argument and opinion during the first year of the leadership of Chief Justice Robert's.


In her state of Arizona, Sandra Day O'Connor was elected as a Republican to the state Senate and served as the Majority leader prior to her being elected to the U.S. Supreme Court. O'Connor, also, served as a judge in her state of Arizona as she simultaneously served , 2005-2012, as Chancellor ofthe College of William and Mary.


Following her service to the United States political, justice and higher education systems, Former US Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor passed away at her home in the state of Phoenix, Arizona having suffered for 10 years with complications associated eith Alzheimer's disease.
