Harris County Attorney Charged For Providing Drugs To Inmates


STATE & NATIONAL In Houston, Texas, a defense attorney for prison inmates was recentky discovered while passing drug laced papers to his incarcerated clients. 77 year old Ronald H Lewis, the defense attorney for a number of inmates, was charged with 2 counts of felony for bringing illegal substances into the jail.

Today, the Harris vounty Sheriff commented in regard to the increasing volume of inmates requiring emergency treatment for apparent drug overdoses. Sheriff Ed Gonzales stated that the department established the Criminal Investigations and Security unit to investigate tge cause for the apparent jail drug trafficking .


The report was made of the deaths of 2 inmates who received emergency attention treatment and, subsequently, died of a drug overdose. CIS agent, Jay Wheeler, indicated that the investigation uncovered the evidence of drug smuggling. Wheeler stated that narcotics were being brought into the jail in the form of paper.


The Harris County jail reported that Attorney Ronald Lewis served as the defense attorney for 14 inmates adding that the attorney passed inmates a total of more than 150 papers. Lewis' attorneys stated that a thorough investigation is being conducted in regard to allegations and charges filed against their client.


Ronald H Lewis was released from the Harris County jail on 15000 dollar bond.
