Israel Prime Minister Netanyahu States Stikes On Rafah "A Tragic Mistake"

US & GLOBAL: Today, following an attack in Southern Rafah, Israel Prime Minister Ben Netanyahu commented in regard to the situation that led to the deadly strikes. Following the attack that ended the lives of 12 Palestine refugees, Israel Prime Minister stated that the attack was a tragic mistake. By Anne M., Erbynstein & CC Martinez

On Sunday, the strikes that killed Palestine refugees came after an event that transpired shortly after the nations of Spain, Norway and ()_ backed Palestine for UN statehood.  Shortly following the UN meeting and the final decision left to being made during the next UN General Assembly, Hamas launched an attack on Tel Aviv.  Israel retaliated with strikes in northern Rafah the likes of which devastated the, otherwise, near peaceful lives of Palestinian campers.   Netanyahu clarified that the strike was conducted by Israeli police.  In a subsequent report, Israel IDF stated that it targeted an attack on a specific region of Rafah however, did not strike a known humanitarian site.  


IDF officials stated that there had not been a direct strike made upon civilians adding that steps were taken to protect civilian refugees.  The official stated that an investigation would be conducted to uncover the events that led to the deaths of civilian Palestinians. A brief investigation of the actual cause of fires that were noticed inside the refugee camp was stated as having been the result of an apparent firefight between Egyptian and Israeli soldiers.  The result so the fight left one Egyptian soldier dead along with more than 40 Palestine refugees. On Sunday, the retaliation strikes by Israel were launched upon the northern region of Egypt, stirring concern by the Egyptian military. A report made by regional news media indicated that a gunfire erupted leaving 45 dead in the Tat-al Sultan community in the city of Rafah. Reports indicated that the area struck by gunfire had been confirmed as a designated humanitarian area.
