US & GLOBAL: Israel recently rescued a hostage, Qaid Farhan Alkadi, from an underground tunnel in Gaza. Alkadi, a 52-year-old Bedouin man, was taken hostage during Hamas’ attack on October 7, 2023.

The rescue operation was described as “complex” and involved Israeli commandos from the Shayetet 13 units.
Alkadi was working as a security guard at a packing factory in Kibbutz Magen when he was abducted3. After being held for over 10 months, he was found in stable condition and has since been reunited with his family.
The operation brought a rare moment of joy amid the ongoing conflict4.
