Maine: 18 Dead, 13 Injured In Random Mass Shootings




STATE & NATIONAL: The state of Maine and Boston Law Engircement are now searching for the person of interest,  Robert Card, the 40 year old shooter in last nights random shooting spress in the city of Louiston, Maine.   By Anne M. Erbynstein

At 6:35 pm on Wednesday, the first 911 call was made to Louiston police. Police arrived at a bowling alley in the area --a location frequented by younger residents Lewiston. At the scene police located 8 people dead and several injured. At a location only 4 miles from the first site, police were called to a sports bar at 553 Lincoln Street, the site of a 2nd mass shooting. 10 people were killed at the scene along with a number of injuries.

Memebers of the Police department in Lewiston, Maine arrived locating a number of people dead outside the locations. Inside, the count mounted as the lifeless bodies at both scenes totalled 18 along with 13 persons who were injured.

Governor of Maine, Janet Mills, spoke on Thursday in regard to the shootings that transpired inthe 2 separate locations. Governor Mills indicated that the police have confirmed the deaths of 18 residents of Louiston and/or surrounding areas adding that the assailant--person of interest--at that time, remained at undetected.

Special FBI Agent Cohen is in charge of the ongoing investigation. The active investigation is being carried out as the FBI continues to work alongside law enforcement in the areas

During her comments made in regard to the shooter, Robert Card, Governor Mills stated that the gunman suffered with mental health disorder.

According to the report by police, Card is being sought after for his arrest.  Mr Card is said to have formed at least one semi automatic weapon used to fire upon as many as 31 people. Card struck with violence in Lewiston, Maine in two locations where his victims were injured and killed. robert Card is identified as a former Army Reserve weapons trainer. The former US Army Reservist is purportedly suffering from mental disorder. Today, the Lewiston, Maine police are being assisted in a manhunt by FBI and ATF agents.
