POLITICS: On Saturday, President Joe Biden visited farmers in North field, Minnesota. Biden reached out to farmers who have wrestled, for years, with securing a nitch in the supply chain stating that, in the past, formers had been told to "get big or get out." By Michelle Crawford-Sapenter Biden took the time to address the matter of most recently focused economic agenda. Biden stated that he is taking steps to ensure that rural Americans will not be forced to leave their hometowns for the putpose of finding opporunity. Today, four mega corporations control the markets of beef pork and other goods. If those markets go out of commission, the wieght is feklt much more by the smaller farmer. Only 7% of US farms receive 90% of the US inclome. The reality is that most farmers have jobs off the farms to be able to make ends meet on their farms., biden stated as he spoke today in Northfield. The Biden administration invested 1 billion dollars in small and mid-sized independent meat prrocessing facilities. Today, with the inroduction of the IRA, more American farmers get a fair price for their products. Farmers and ranchers only see a small percentage of the profits. Farmers who,wil now provide foods to the US public will see a greater percentage of their profits. Its a better plan, Biden says, since the Eisenhower administration,. Biden stated that investments have ,, also, been m,ade in Minnesota to improve internet reception and clean energy. 2 billion dollars have been invested to provide for improvements necessary for rural farmers to maintain their farms adequately.
