NATION: On Saturday, as the US House introcuded their plan for ensuring the continued state of government operation heading into the extension deadline, led by House Speaker Mike Johnson, members of the GOP have agreed on a plan slated for putting forward to the remainder of the Democratic House. In the course of their announcing the Republicans resolution, Senator Chuck Schumer had a number of choice suggestions to offer Johnson.
Today, while perusing the events of the past shutdowns and the direction that the government appears to be taking at the hands of Republican House leads, the US Semnate does not consider feasable the next steps in the plan devised by Mike Johnson.
According to the report of Johnson's plan includes another attempt at a short-term funding effort, such that, according to Senatoir Chuck Schummer contain "...hard right proposals, hard right cuts, hard right poison pills that have zero support from Democrats will only make a MAGA government shutdown more likely."
Schumer stated today, that the next phase in proposals that he will acknowledge will be his first steps at introducing a short-term plan to move the government forward. Schumer states that he is taking steaps to ensure that a MAGA shutdown will be averted.
Other members of the House have indicated that Speaker Johnson is taking a "difficult..." taks with high risks in the path. The House plan, as led by Speaker Johnson, will be fully perused as the next week opens.
