Michigan Supreme Court Declines Revisiting Flint Water Contamination Law Suit Against Governor

STATE & NATIONAL: Today , The Supreme Court of Michigan arrived at a decision that would end the law suit brought against Genesee county involving a case against Governor Rick Snyder. The court ruled that the case against snyder involving the Flint Michigan water contamination would not be revived. By anne M. Erbynstein In 2014, the city of Flint Michigan was the focus of a case brough against the state's Governor in regard to a water contamination crisis. The event that transpired involving the city water contamination was a matter of a switch turned on leaking lead into the city's water system. According to the report, the state of Michigan determined the case in december, 2022 based on the indictment and procedures that transpired. Today, the supreme Court stated there is "...no option but to consider the Flint Water Prosecutions closed." In determining the outcome of the case, the Michigan supreme court relieved other public officials of any claims of negligence involving the m,atter of a city water system that encountered decive operational maklfunctions. The state indicated that the court will release a statement within the next 4 to 6 months describing the details associated wioth the exoneration of Governor snyuder and several others. Snyder had been charged with two counts of willful neglect of duty.
