US & UK Join Together To Announce New Strategic Dialogue on Biological Security


POLITICS: In Washington, the Biden administration joined together with the UK to engage in securing biological protection against certain ongoing threats. Today, the administration and US allies engaged in the Strategic Dialogue on Biological Security during a launch event.

Today. the US took steps to establish measures thst would ensure the sought after security necessary to detect and prevent biological threats.


Beginning with the June, 2021, US New Atlantic Charter, and UK Atlantic Declaration on Economicc Security the 2 divisions of international security gathered together with the U.S. National Security Council and the UK Cabinet Office to followed through on Tuesday, with the June 2023 plans for moving forward with the new Strategic Dialogue on Biologicsal Security.


The strategic dialogue provides a means for the development of "...a shared ambition to bolster health and resilience. agsinst growing and diverse spectrum of biological threats."


Included in the plan for preserving biological security, tge Biden - Harris administration joined together with tge UK and partners to reaffirm the commitment to increasing efforts to ensure biological security.


The US/UK collaborative plan lists


1). Develop a shared understanding of research and development (R&D) needs at the onset of new disease outbreaks, allowing for improved responsiveness by shaping global R&D efforts and supporting early technology assessments.


2). Adopt a One Health approach to biosurveillance and biological threat detection, in support of international efforts to develop stronger and more interconnected global surveillance capabilities.


3). Pursue the development of new tools and methodologies for microbial forensics and attribution.


4). Promote responsible innovation in the biotechnology, health, and life sciences sectors, shaping global norms and standards on biosafety and biosecurity while simultaneously protecting burgeoning bio-economies.


5). Facilitate the development of next-generation vaccines and therapeutics, in line with the 100-Days Mission vision supported by G7 leaders in Carbis Bay in 2021 and reaffirmed at the 2023 G7 Summit in Hiroshima.


6). Strengthen coordination of efforts to counter biological threats, including developing joint measures to address Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention compliance..


Strategic Dialogue on Biolohicsl Security , quite likely planned for further development as the global horizon inclined toward the new arrivals of virus associated with COVID-29.
