Winter Weather Begins To Dissipate w/Exceptions in New York - More Winter Storm Condition's Expected


NATION: In the vast regions ofthe United States, extreme cold has spanned across the eastern to north and northeastern states traveling southerly as the winter storm vortex progressed throughout the U.S. Today, much of the nation remains under winter storm advisory.

In the last weeks of January, freezing temperatures have been accompanied by high winds, heavy rains and, quite unusual occurrences of tornados as blizzards have, also, ravaged residents in tge north , south , east and west corridors.


Across tge nation, current bitter cold temperatures will linger over the weekend of January 19-21st while some drastic changes are expected to alter the climate in some parts of tge nation.


According to the Weather Predictions Center, most of the nation will experience below freezing temperatures as climates routinely drop overnight Saturday to Sunday morning and through most ofthe day.


From Texas to New York State, below freezing temperatures are expected to hover over the regions through the weekend.


In Texas freezing temperatures are expected to cause rain to freeze creating unsafe roads and other areas where ice develops. New York is bracing for its next winter storm blast as Low temperatures, freezing rain and near blizzard-like conditions are expected move through the state toward the northern portions of the Big Apple.


As January moves into February, tge Weather Prediction Center indicates that warmer temperatures are likely in some portions of tge nation. Temperatures are aching into the 50s and 60s are likely in tge Ststes of Washington, much of Oregon and Alaska, and portions of northern California, Nevada, Idaho, and Montana, as well as Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and northern New York.


The National Weather Service forecasts the arrival of more normal temperatures in the next week of the 2024 winter.
