Biden Signs Spending Bill Extension Preventing Government Shutdown


POLITICS: In view of tge ongoing press for ensuring that federal bills are paid, US President Joe Biden moves the nstion ahead a notch by signing the US Congress approved stopgap measure. Approved by Democrats, Friday's payment deadline for preventing a shutdown was backed by the President's signing .

Last week, Congress took steps to ensure that a shutdown would be prevented. A majority of Democrats voted in favor of the bill that reached President Biden's desk and was signed by the following day.


Democrats continue with plans for obtaining an approval by tge House majority whike Speaker Mime Johnson looks forward to a detailed spending budget plan that works to satisfy both GOPs and Dems.


Prior to the President's signing, the White House had sought after Congress for the approval of more military funding for Ukraine adding Israel to the measure. Johnson stalled on the congressional approval of Biden's request while asking tge President for an agreement on GOPs bipartisan southern border proposals.


The stopgap was otherwise approved in both the House and the Biden administration adding another several weeks for a spending budget to be established and approved for the remainder ofthe fiscal year, 2024.
