Today, the news of Austin's residential largess has set the wheels of excitement and gladness in motion. As part of a Guaranteed Income program, residents in the Capitol city of Texas were , in a word, blessed with funds that were provided through the pilot program.
Based on the stipulations associated with the GIP, residents received the sum based on their family income. According to the report on the GIP program families selected to participate in the plan were largely low income group residents.
Fractions of the gift were divided among 135 families eith 85 recriving the funding from the city and the remaining 50 families receiving funds given to them by philanthropic groups.
Austin's research analyst released information on the program that begsn in March of 2022. The report indicates that funding was used, by recipients for housing.
Other data indicated that resident recipients stated tgat, having received the funding for the year, they were able to balance tgeir immediate home budgeting. The funds, as a result, were effective in uplifting families in areas of secured housing and food supplies .
