Harvard University Facing Complaints & Lawsuits Claiming Insufficient Response to Violence Against Jewish & Palestinian Students

Updated: Jan 31

STATE & NATIONAL: In Massachusetts, today, student at Harvard University have reacted with protests following the sudden death in a plan to oppose adverse treatment of Jewish student after the Univerfity settled with keeping former Harvard President, Claudine Gay. This week, after the University's Board of Director's shifted its probe from Jewish student rights violations --claims that were hurdled by Gay--to an apparent and considerably less than criminal error contained in Dr Gay's dissertation, https://www.proquest.com/docview/304343028/fulltextPDF/E3586B8D78E3408DPQ/. 1997, students there have entered a complaint stating their concerns over the lack of sufficient security for Palestinian students.

Harvard's Palestinian symtudents clsim they ave been the victim of "...doxxing, stalking, and assault."

Today, a few more than one dozen student submitted a complaint to the Department of Education's Office of Cibil Rights. The complaint included comments stating that Harvard Univerxity should face an investigation following claims of intimidation, threats and harassment. Filed by the Muslim Legal Fund of America, the allegation lodged against Harvard infnficate that Muslim students have endured blatant victimization .

"Right now, Jewish students on the campus are afraid for their own physical safety and to express their views about current events." --Harvard University Attorney, Marc Kodowitz

Gas lighting their complaint was the university's Palestinian Solidsrity Committee. The PSC states in the complaint that violence should not be tolerated adfingbtgst the Committee does not engaged in violence and opposes "... violence against all human life."

Some students have observed that there may have been distinctions made between Palestinian students and Jews. Students, Palestinian students have indicated that they have felt the weight of that which is described as ' Islamophobia' --that which students have claimed is a much less emphasized matter in comparison to antisemitism.

At the crux ofthe controversy is, stated in all fairness, the racial distinctions made between Jewish and Palestinian students. There can be no question that Jewish students have also sought after a reaction from the University Board of Overseers following complaints of violence. While each side complains of unflaling violent attacks neither takes any responsibility for the purported attacks that have been brought against either group.

Litigation continues surrounding the lawsuits filed against Harvard Univerxity by both, attorneys representing tge Jewish student and lawsuits filed by Palestinian students. Harvard University attorneys declined when asked how the lawsuits are being handled in court
