500 Pounds of Fentanyl From Mexico Stopped At Arizona Border


STATE & NATIONAL: On Saturday, US Border Security stopped 2 men driving a vmvehile tgst contaned nearly 500 pounds of fentsnyl drugs. The 2 Me I am nationals were stopped at tge Nagoles, Arizona border driving a commercial bus.

Two drivers of a commercial bus were stopped at the border of Mexico and Arizona after Border Security detected the bus cargo contained illegal drug substances. 483 pounds of fentanyl opioid drugs were confiscated, the 2 Mexican nationals arrested by border agents.


Officer in Arizona alerted authorities to the commercial bus traveling from Mexico to Los Angeles. Officers in Arizona were alerted after Secirty dogs sniffed out the drugs located in the rear wheel of the vehicle.


After canine officer's indirection, sutholitities were alerted to the location of tge illegal substances. Border Patrol omagents discovered 92 packages of illegal substance that , later, tested positive for fentanyl oilpioids. More than 219 kilos of the illegal drugs were confiscated by border agents.


Included in the discovery of ilkegal drug paraphernalia, agents located $11,000 dollars under the dashboard of the vehicle.


According to US federal agents, when told about the cash and drugs found in the VEHIVLE tge drivers did not react with surprise. Both drivers claimed they only knew that they were to pick up riders in Msipusa Arizona and drive them to Los Angeles, California.


One of the drivers claimed that they were unaware of the cash situated in the dashboard adding that they slept over night at a hotel in the US. The one driver stated that the keys to the vehicle were left on the dashboard.


According to tge report that followed questioning by CBP agents, Valencia stated that they waited on the other side of the Pirt of Entry during the early morning hours because the POE would not open until sometime later.


Both the driver and Valencia remain under arrest while US agents investigate the matter.
