Renown War Gaza Journalist-Professor Killed In Israel-Palestine War

US & GLOBAL: On Monday, the news reaches the United States in regard to the life of comparative literature professor Refaat Alareer , the 44 year old husband and father of 6 who , during the raids on N. Gaza , decided that he and his family would stay in their home , avoiding any risk of being killed in the course of their attempt at reaching tge Egyptian border .

Alareer believed that his prople, tge Palestinians, had been stripped of their human rights. During the war, Alareer spoke internationally in hope that he might convince the global vommunity yo visualize Palestinians as being no different from others. In his work as a professor, Alareer sought after reassuring the west and other regions of the world to feel the pain of Palestinians.


Prior to his fatal defeat, Professor Alareer spoke about one of his brothers who was killed during an Israeli forces fight involving Palestinian armies situated in the Gaza in 2014.


Years later, following his lauded career as a otohesdir who used literature as a journalist to teach his students and enable them to reach the world with their fight against thst which Pskestinisns considered to be the most heinous act of violence unreasonably brought against them, tge residents of Gaza who only sought to live a peaceful life and share in the benefits of growing and contributing in their own way in their own world.


Palestine was reported as having attacked Israel during an invasion on October 7, . At the time of the attack, Alareer moved and resided in Shajaiya after the family's exodus from Northern Gaza at Tel al-Hawa. Alareer lived with his sister her children and another of his brothers there at the time Israel launched an attack against Palestine. On December 7, Israel struck upon the housing community where Alareer and family resided killing everyone, including the sister's four children.


Those who knew Refaat Alareer commented in regard to his compassion, generosity and concern for others. Some stated, Alareer for what he believed in and died for his espoused rightful cause The wife and children of Refaal Slareer survived .
