NATION: On Monday, the Reverend Eric S.C. Manning,Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church mskes a petition to the US government and the U.S. Congress to quite directly address US gun violence.

"You can be mentally ill and hurt no one,...What makes you a threat is the gun.”
On a day or evening totally unsuspected by those in attendance , the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church was rocked by gunfire.
Nine people killed and several injured during the shooting committed by a white male . In the state where the Emanuel Africa. Methodist Episvopsl Church is operated-South Carolina- the pastor ofthe church stated that a group of Repubkicsn candidates in the state were forgetting the shooting by a white supremacist the 9 black parishioners.
It was in view of the church shootings and other shootings - 6 in total- already committed across the nation, the members of the EAME Church petitioned the local politicians asking that they do something to support national efforts being made to address gun violence.
S. Carolina is a state that has never had a red flag law , however, those running for office have been encouraged to turn the focus to guns.
While Nikki Haley, the Presidential candidate from S. Carolina, sought to maintain laws that avoided , members of the EAME Church petitioned for tge removal of guns from the public.
Instead , tge candidate for President, Nikki Haley, stated tgst her greatest concern surrounding tge recentvshootingveventsnis that the state has "....no skinheads , no real KKK, no one doing anything but talking on the internet. Well someone has to have the bravery to take it to the real world.”
Haley, also stood on thee premise TGAT she doesn't trust "...the government to deal with red flag laws. I don’t trust that they won’t take them away from people who rightfully deserve to have them.”
