UGA Murderer Suspected of Bring Illegal Alien

STATE & NATIONAL: On Friday, the man suspected of murdering University of Georgia at Augusta student, Laken Hope Riley, last week, was placed under investigation by police who are searching his background for information that has led to his status as an illegal alien.

On Thursday, , Laken H. Riley, a dean's list student at the University of Georgia at Augusta, set out on her routine jogging exercise when she was confronted by an unknown male, non-student, Jose Antonio Ibarra, a 26, year old Athens, Georgia resident.


The Athens-Clarke County Coroner stated that Riley died from blunt force trauma.. Police locating the remains of 22 year old Laken Riley stated that she was located near a lake.


Police stated that their search for Jose Ibarra led them to Diego Ibarra, brother of tge suspect. According to the police report. Diego matched his brother description and, however, presented a fake green card when asked by tge police to provide positive identification.


Both Ibarra brothers are undocumented immigrants from Venezuela . Diego Ibarra is bring held on charges of presenting false identification to police alongside his possible illegal residence in the United States.


Jose Ibarra, police say, acted alone in regard to the murder and is facing charges of unlawful imprisonment, kidnapping, felony murder and concealing the death of another person.
