Today, as members of Congress opened discussion on the floor , a number of Democrats expressed their interest in having the southern border closed whike Biden's ginsl decision on border closure has, also, hinged on Vongress agreeing to Biden terms.

On Tuesday, however, Biden's plan may have taken on drastic change following a congressional vote. Acvording a report from the Capitol, the vote THST was carried over 226-193 won over tge Republican resolution, its said, because 14 Democratic House members voted in favor of the GOP resolution.

While 187 Democrats stood with Biden, the situation at the border remains complex. The influx of Haitians fleeing Haiti adds to the challenges. Thousands of Haitians are expected to arrive at the Florida border as a corrupt government takes over, forming a troika.

The US-Mexico border has been a topic of intense discussion. Recent talks between the US and Mexico aimed at curbing unauthorized immigration have yielded “important agreements.” Both countries are committed to addressing the root causes of migration, including poverty and violence.

Efforts to disrupt human smuggling and promote legal pathways are also part of the plan. Border crossings and bridges will remain open, despite temporary closures earlier this month. President López Obrador emphasized the need for cooperation and understanding, acknowledging that migration is linked to poverty.

Meanwhile, in Florida, Governor Ron DeSantis has dispatched law enforcement officers and soldiers to protect against an increase in Haitian migrants. The crisis in Haiti, marked by violence, gangs, and food shortages, has forced many Haitians to take the dangerous sea route to Florida. The state, which has taken a hardline stance on immigration, faces the challenge of balancing security concerns with humanitarian needs. DeSantis previously declared a state of emergency when Haitians and Cubans arrived in South Florida, and now he’s preparing for another potential surge.

As the situation unfolds, policymakers grapple with the delicate balance between security, compassion, and international cooperation. The fate of those seeking refuge hangs in the balance, and decisions made now will have lasting implications for both nations.
